Nelson Selamaj

Nelson is an accomplished lawyer with a strong background in law and a passion for serving his clients. Born in Albania and immigrating to Canada at a young age, Nelson's journey has shaped his dedication to justice and helping others navigate the legal system.

Nelson's educational journey began in Ontario where he achieved an honours degree in political science from the University of York. He then moved to British Columbia where he was part of the first graduating class at Thompson Rivers University Law School.

After graduating Law School, Nelson began working with McLeod and Schneiderat in Penticton. Later, Nelson decided to establish his own firm, Selamaj Law, in Kelowna. As a family man, Nelson understands the importance of balancing work and personal life. He enjoys spending time with his children and spouse, and you might even find him snowboarding up in Sun Peaks or Big White during his leisure time.

Nelson's legal practice focuses on criminal law, child protection, and family law. With his knowledge and dedication, he strives to provide effective legal representation and support to his clients. Della Pick

Legal assistant

Della Pick is the esteemed legal assistant working alongside Nelson Selamaj. She moved to Kelowna in 2019 with her partner Blake after obtaining a Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from Thompson Rivers University. Della plays a crucial role in supporting Nelson and ensuring the smooth operation of Selamaj Law. With her exceptional organizational skills and dedication to providing excellent client service, Della is an invaluable asset to the firm.

With her warm and professional demeanor, Della is known for her exceptional communication skills. She understands the importance of clear and effective communication between clients, legal professionals, and other parties involved in a case. Della is always ready to assist clients with their inquiries and provide them with the necessary information and updates.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Della is a compassionate individual who genuinely cares about the well-being of the firm's clients. She understands that legal matters can be stressful and overwhelming, and she strives to create a supportive and empathetic environment for clients during their interactions with Selamaj Law.

Karmyn Fisher

paralegal practicum student

Karmyn Fisher is completing her paralegal practicum at Selamaj Law and will be joining the firm as a paralegal upon graduation from Okanagan College in September. 

Originally from Williams Lake, Karmyn moved to Kelowna in 2023 to pursue her legal studies and begin building her career in the Okanagan.


During her time at Okanagan College, Karmyn gained a strong foundation in legal research, document preparation, and client support, skills she now applies in her work with the firm. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence make her a valuable addition to the team.


Outside of her professional pursuits, Karmyn enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly camping in the Okanagan Valley. 


With her enthusiasm for the law and dedication to client service, Karmyn is excited to continue her career with Selamaj Law as a paralegal.

Hans Fuhrmann

Summer law student

Hans Fuhrmann is returning in 2026 as a summer student with Selamaj Law. Born and raised in Kelowna, B.C., Hans has strong connections to the Okanagan and is committed to serving the community.

Before pursuing his legal career, Hans earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Computer Science from Wilfrid Laurier University. He went on to work as a software developer for a few years before finding his true passion in advocacy and the law.

Hans is currently completing his Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta, where he has focused his studies on criminal law and procedure. He is also a member of Student Legal Services, assisting individuals as a friend of the court as they navigate the challenges of the criminal justice system.

Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Hans is actively involved in the fitness community. He is committed to supporting athletes and growing the sport of strongman in Canada.

With his diverse background and strong work ethic Hans is dedicated to supporting the clients of Selamaj Law and gaining valuable experience as he develops his career in criminal defence.
